Your team of four to six -- balanced across gender, IT skills, work
experience and nationality, among other things -- will work with a
real world client.
Please choose your client and group,
preferably before the first class, from one
of the following:
- Google Online
Marketing Challenge: Most teams will participate in the
Challenge,
developed by eMarketing alumni. USA colleagues set up
GOMCHA, a community to help
you in the Challenge. And you should enjoy this

- An illustrious eMarketing grad, Murali Valayutham,
manages Touchwood's
website
- Blue Glue
- A current eMarketing student, Shelley Robinson, is the development manager
for Penrhos College
- Website Project: Develop
or revise a website based on the criteria in the
right-hand column of this page.
- A possible client is a movie under
development, Charlie &
Moon.
- Another possible client is
Edwards Solar Water Heater, managed by current
eMarketing student, Shane Currie.
- Other Project: Another emarketing project that interests you, such as an ad
banner experiment similar to a 2007 project. Please advise if you have a specific idea.
You will:
- submit your group contract no later
than 2pm on 5 March
- present your working draft during the
8 April seminar.
- present your results during the 20 May
seminar.
- submit your final project no later than
2pm, 4 June.
Assessment
Assessment for a website project is on the right-hand column and for
the Google Online Marketing Challenge at the contest website.Assessment for other projects will be part of your
group contract and may involve a written
report and submission to a conference such as
ANZMAC 2009 or ACIS 2009.

- Cover Page - title, url, client, group members. separate page (1
point)
- Executive Summary - This may be all your client, or instructor,
reads. Summarise what's important to them, and to you. 125/175
words, separate page (4 points)
- Introduction - Explain how your report is outlined, where it will
go, what the reader will find. 100/125 words (3 points)
- The client - Explain the organisation, its history, key
individuals, etc. 150/175 words (4 points)
- Competitive analysis. 200/250 words plus tables (5 points)
- Mission - Who does the organisation see as its target market(s)
and how does it hope to address this market.
Specific goals? Objectives? 150/175 words (4 points)
- Metrics - Given the mission, what metrics will measure success? What targets have you
set for these metrics? 150/175 words (4 points)
- Mechanics - What ISP did you use? Why? What website tools
and features did you use -- graphics and page sizes in kilobytes, fonts, secure server, java, javascript, cgi,
colours, templates, etc? How is the site organised for easy

- Money - What fixed and variable expenses are associated with the

- Conclusion - In summary, why will this site benefit

- Appendix - Home page picture, site hierarchy, relevant company literature and a few
other documents. separate pages (2 points)
- Formatting (2 points)
- 1.5 spaced, indent paragraphs, double spaced after headings,
include word count with each heading
- One inch or 2.54cm margins
- Align left for the body of the report
- Bullet points where appropriate
- Except for headings, use a 12 point
Times New Roman font
- Black and white, limited colour
- APA citations and Elements of Style (6 points)
